WINTER SOLSTICE Call It Quits

April 16, 2006

Virginia-based metalcore act WINTER SOLSTICE have officially split up. The group's statement on the matter reads as follows:

"For those of you who have yet to hear, we at the WINTER SOLSTICE camp have decided to call it quits. Each of our members was feeling pulled in different directions and it seemed that it was time for us to go the way of the band and pursue other things. Several members, along with members of EVERYTHING FALLS TOGETHER, have already formed a new band called GHOST OF A FALLEN AGE. You can check out a demo track at www.myspace.com/ghostofafallenage.

"We are grateful for the time we had and are even more grateful to the people that made it possible.

"Thanks very much to everyone at Metal Blade for working so hard with us. We'd also like to thank Scott and Ian for working with us every step of the way. We are forever grateful to our friends in TWELVE TRIBES, AS I LAY DYING, THROWDOWN, THE SHOWDOWN, EVERGREEN TERRACE, AS CITIES BURN, and BLOODLINED CALLIGRAPHY for the memories we have with them. More than any of these, we want to thank anyone who came to the shows and gave us the opportunity to share our music with them. We cannot thank all of you enough for your support. Be prepared for the brutalness of GHOST OF A FALLEN AGE."

WINTER SOLSTICE's full-length debut, "The Fall of Rome", was released in March 2005 via Metal Blade Records.
